Alumni of the Gamma Omega Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma,
Greetings brothers! I hope this message finds you in good health and company.
As many of you already know, our beloved Fraternity house and recognition by Phi Kappa Sigma have been both lost. The times we shared together will not be forgotten. Every class and generation of brothers was faced with tough challenges had to be overcome in order to continue on as a functioning organization. Recently, those challenges overcame the brotherhood.
Past events have led us to the pivotal point we are at. We have a unique opportunity to come together to once again to accomplish great things for future initiates and our past great brotherhood. Let’s not dwell or focus effort on blame. Instead, we need to focus on what the future will hold for us.
At first glance it may appear with no chapter house and no recognition from a larger organization it seems like we are starting over. This is far from the reality. The luxury of an alumni community is something our founding fathers did not have. We have a solid foundation of brothers. There is nothing we cannot accomplish with proper planning and effort.
Phi Kap has been a terrific experience for me. The friend’s I’ve made and the lesson’s I’ve learned will last longer than a lifetime. Looking back on my active time in Phi Kap there are many things I would do different. But, when I think back to those times, I end up with a big smile on my face remembering all the fun we had.
Since my initiation at Gamma Omega, one brother has stood far apart. Brother Wai Kue Yee has given his advice, time, and monetary contributions that have gone unmatched. He continues to set an example we can all look too. He is rallying members to regain an active chapter so our legacy will live on and others can share similar experiences that we had.
Technology has come a long way since Gamma Omega was founded. We have secured the domain name http://gopks.org to house our current alumni chapter website and will pass it down to a new active chapter once established. Different tools to help us keep in touch will be forthcoming.
Please brothers, join us in advancing the interests of the Fraternity, past, present, and future. We all have our different strengths. Together, we can achieve anything!
O.A.P.K.A.A.P.K.
